Maspalomas is probably one of the most beautiful beaches on Gran Canaria. It has endless stretches of fine white sands with pristine blue waters, set against spectacular wind sculpted dunes. Unfortunately this impressive natural beauty can get very packed, especially during peak season.
Maspalomas is divided up into three distinct areas; one part is perfect for families and the other two are mainly populated by the gay and nudist communities. Of course, there are no actual boundaries or problems passing from each section to the other.
In terms of infrastructure, Maspalomas is as well equipped as Playa del Ingles. It has all the all the things you'd expect from a modern tourist resort including; sports and leisure facilities, restaurants, bars and shops etc...
But there's more to this area than just the beach! Close by (just a few kms) there's Aquasur - the biggest park on the island; then there's Holiday world - a huge amusement park; Palmitos park - a fascinating ornithological park with a butterfly house and aquarium and Sioux City - a wild west theme park. So if you or the kids have hade enough of sand and the sun, there's still plenty of other things you can do in this area.
Maspalomas is a true natural paradise. Stunningly beautiful, it draws all types of visitors each year; young and old; gay and straight; families; independent travellers; package deal groups. It has something for everyone.
