Head west of Puerto Rico and you'll come to the idyllic village of Puerto de Morgan, also known as the 'Venice of Gran Canaria' because of it many canals.

This area of the island is a small, relaxed and friendly place, perfect for a relaxed day out. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafés here, all along the harbour. The local fish is definitely worth trying out; guaranteed freshness, given the amount of fishing boats that crawl into the island every morning and proximity to the ocean!

To get here, head west on the road from Playa del Ingles or Puerto Rico and you can't miss it. Alternatively you can take a boat to Puerto de Morgan. There are organised boat trips from various other cities in the south. If you can, take the boat; it's the best ways to travel around the island!
