Gran Canaria has a surface area of just 1,560 km². It’s only 50 kms from one side of the island to the other. The highest point on the island (Pico de Las Nieves) is 1,949 meters. It is divided into the following twenty-one municipalities:
Agaete, Agüimes, Artenara, Arucas,Firgas, Gáldar, Ingenio, Mogán, Moya, Las Palmas, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, San Nicolás de Tolentino, Sta. Brígida, Sta. Lucía de Tirajana, Santa María de Guía, Tejeda, Telde, Teror, Valleseco, Valsequillo and Vega de San Mateo. |
