Your note
Playa de las Canteras is a wonderful natural lagoon with temperate waters all year round. It's perfect for bathing no matter what time of the year it is. The beach itself is about 3 kilometres long. It's shaped like a cove and has brownish sand. One hundred meters off the beach there is a natural reef called "La Barra". It extends for about 200 meters and is largely responsible for creating the lagoon. Playa de las Canteras also has perfect conditions for a variety of different watersports.
The beach has a bustling promenade lined with shops, open-air restaurants, bars and cafes. It's very lively, with both locals and tourists strolling all day long. You"ll see all kinds of street entertainers, artists and street vendors on the promenade too.
Head south of the promenade and you"ll come to Playa de las Canteras - a top class surf spot. The swell here can be quite strong and where the natural rock finishes the waves come crashing in with no obstruction whatsoever. You"ll find plenty of shops here, selling all kinds of water sports equipment and accessories.
