Golf is a year round pastime here on Gran Canaria. With this climate you can play 365 days a year!

At the moment there are 6 golf courses on the island; three in the north and three in the south. Most courses are recently built and are designed for demanding players.

New courses are cropping up all the time, as the demand for the sport increases steadily. These new courses are being created by some of the most prestigious international golf course designers in the world.

The real Club de Golf de La Palmas is the oldest course in Spain. It was built back in 1891 by English settlers. It’s located just south of Pico de Bandama. It has some excellent views to the nearby volcanic crater. This is a par 71, 18 hole course with 2 putting greens. It’s a top class course with many facilities including; club hire service, restaurant and wine cellar. They also have two tennis courts a horse riding area and even a swimming pool!
The course is located on Carretera de Bandama s/n – Las Palmas.

El Cortijo de Campo is a world-class course. It’s been the chosen venue for numerous international championships over the years, including the Peugeot Oki Tour and the Professional Senior and Women’s Spanish Championships.

It’s a 72, 18-hole course with fast greens and, with up to six tees per hole. The course is absolutely stunning, with beautiful lakes surrounded by literally hundreds of ancient palm trees. It’s a varied and sometimes quite tricky course to play on.


There’s a golf school here where you can get expert advice and training. Other facilities include; practice course, chipping green, putting green and a practice bunker. This course is located on Autopista del Sur G.C. 1 / Km 6,4 - Telde.
