Gran Canaria’s mountainous terrain is ideal for downhill mountain biking. There are also some lovely slow paced routes you can take in the mountain around the low lying hills. Each year the island attracts many cycling teams who come here for their winter training.

You also get loads of bicycle tourists who come here with their own equipment and spend time exploring the natural beauties of this fascinating island while at the same time practising their favourite sport.

There are plenty of places on the island where you can rent out a bike or you can also go on a guided bicycle tour. There are hundreds of routes you can take, all at varying levels of difficulty.

Cycling is an excellent means of transport, good for your health, good for the environment. It’s also cheap and great fun. Ever year, more and visitors to the island are choosing the bike instead of the car!
