Teror is an old Canarian village located around 20 kilometres from Las Palmas. It's known as the 'City with the Balconies' because of the many beautifully carved white balconies that are on display all throughout the town. This is typical of Canarian houses in this region.

One of the town's most interesting feature is the church Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pino. It's located right in the centre of the town and was built back in the 1700's.

The journey up to Teror is a treat in itself. As you pass through the mountains on the narrow winding road (lined with eucalyptus trees), you'll see spectacular views out over the countryside.

There's a large market every Sunday. This is an absolute must see. Locals from all the surrounding villages (and further afield) come here to do their shopping. They sell everything from traditional Canarian foods to local clothes and crafts.

To get there, just follow the signs from Arucas or Santa Brigida.
